Inglish Classes

My experiences with the English courses in the university have been different; in English two I feel I did not learn anything new, however in english three, I went really well, and learned a lot about speaking, we practiced a lot to express verbally, also improved my listening skills, overall it was a very good experience and now in the English course four I have strengthened my writing skills through blogging, that is, I had a breakthrough regarding the timing of entering the U, but sometimes I feel that I still lack, to that I add that the English do not like so much…

Now, through blogging I've learned about writing and grammar of the language, sometimes I did not like them but then I was liking it.

In English I think it costs me is writing, when I type soil mix tenses, and sometimes I need coherence . Another aspect that should be improved is listening, what could be improved in an entertaining way, through songs in English, trying to translate, it seems like a pretty good idea.

Mmm Honestly I do not use English outside the classroom, sometimes I use it to understand lyrics that I like. Sometimes I learn new words, seeing shows like Criminal Minds, Prison Break, breaking bad or movies at the cinema or on cable.

2014

Well this year has had a bit of everything, from the summer I started a relationship, I met very nice people, new friends. In the U, it has been a strange year, its went well although I've missed a lot of classes,  more than any other semester!   because I now realize that  many things from many subjects acumulated, missing  sometimes I have felt low and very sleepy. Also this year I quit my part time job because I did not like the atmosphere there was, but now I want to find another part time job.  mmm good I do not know if I've had this year "achievements" because I have not done anything extra I've just spent in  the U so I hope to have success next year, I would do other things perhaps being in a theater workshop, or dance, or something like that. what I have not done this year, do other things of interest to me before, because I was working and did not have much time, but now I think it is better to make time; and also something important, go to school, not to miss to keep it up much.

This year so I have left to do is go to all my classes, submit all assignments on time (like video jiji English), get a stable part-time job and devote time to do things I like.

It will be my challenge for the remainder of this year!

My Hobbies!!!

I have always had many hobbies in my life, of course, they have changed over time. Currently I have many hobbies like listening to music, but it's something I do constantly, every day, when I go to some place, metro, micro, or bike.

Cycling is something that I enjoy, even when be sad  or anger go for a bike ride, some paruqe, that helps me a lot, I also go for fun, new friends to go places on weekends.

But there is a hobby that has remained much of my life with me, is to act, since I was nine years old, I've been in theater workshops, I always loved doing, permorm different characters, and feel the adrenaline of being onstage.

Unfortunately, when it comes to college I left the theater workshops, because they no longer had as much time, but if I try to constantly go to the theater to see plays or movies to see peluclas is something I love.

 I also enjoy reading good books, taking a walk around and cooking goodies as desserts, cakes or sushi.

Personally I think it's important for people to have hobbies and do things that they like, that's what makes them happy. Especially in a world where we are often forced to do things we do not want or are not enjoyed for many reasons or because not enough time, because we have many obligations.

That's why I think we need to give time to do things we really want, that people achieve far less stressed! 

Green!

Well I have never defined as a person 100% environmentalist, although I consider myself a person that is friendly to the environment, because I try not to pollute too for example.

I personally believe that people learn some friendly practices environment, in various parts, some people from small are educated by his family in harmony with the environment, other people become aware of when they grow due to other people they know, or themselves when they realize the conditions under which lies the planet, some for college, friends, etc.

I become aware of when I was in college, and I realized that the planet is suffering mainly due to human action, rather, the product of the industries that handle large employers, which hardly take friendly practices for the environment.

Well, I try to incorporate recycling, constantly re-use some materials such as plastic bags, cartons, boxes, even clothing.

But I did not support eco-organizations because it is not born me this concern and also because I believe that it is possible to make small changes to help the planet, but are reduced when we note that those changes should be made are large companies that pollute much!

That's what I think I need to Santiago, implement public policies toward big business and its effects on pollution of our city.

Another measure that I do and can be considered as environmentally friendly is cycling, which I really like, sometimes I use the bike to go to the U or buy or just to stroll.

Free Friday!

Probably, if I didn’t have English classes, I would sleep all afternoon long,  and it would have two options, the first being in pajamas all day and sleep a lot or hang out with my friends and go out there.

Personally I love Fridays is the day that despite having classes, not study, I do not do homework, do not do anything academic, after school English, I usually go out with my boyfriend or my friends to Bellavista or republic, when I do, just go out, I go to my cousins ​​or something similar, the important is but that day is mine alone to enjoy.

Other activities that would be too late to take bike riding really long time since I go ride my bike now, but I really like doing, it distracts me and relaxes me. Also Friday and Saturday at theaters in Bellavista have good plays which I enjoy.

Bellavista is a neighborhood that I quite like due to many reasons: this near my house, in some places there is live music, which gives it a nice atmosphere, and is not as expensive to go to eat or drink there.

It would be wonderful if there were no classes on Friday, I have classes from half past eight until six, but I'm used and come to English classes this year has not been at all difficult, it's still entertaining Roseate sometimes, it's also the last level!

My future Job...

Well, I'm studying education, I am in my third year of carrer, with my carrer the workplace is usually in the classroom or children's programs at the government level, what pleases me, however I think that the teaching profession is quite exhausting, so I would like to work about five years living and take a break, do a Masters in public policy and work somehow improve institutions working with the early childhood, although my ideal job would be in an orphanage children.

I also love to go some time to work in rural schools in southern Chile, first because I love southern Chile and because I think that working in a rural school is a great challenge and a very nice work and sastifactoria, at least I think so.

I like to work in Chile, because I think there is much to do in education, it is well known that the national education system is in trouble and has several shortcomings. Despite this, I know it's hard to make big changes to a complete system, but I think as a teacher there is a range of action to make changes that make a difference in teaching and how children learn.

Personally I like to travel a lot, meet all South America and some European countries, my workplace is difficult, so is personal.

A Bomb!

The last Monday, in the escuela militar station a bomb  exploded, leaving several people injured, and It's weird, because in Chile never before something happened, which is why my first impression was surprise of what happened.

I think it's fine that people express their opinions count and protest for their ideals and what he believes is right, however saddens me that the way to "protest" has left a wound that maybe people are not guilty what happens in our country.

Chile is one of the countries with the highest rates of inequality, which is why there is much nonconformity. Then sometimes people look different ways to express themselves and complain about all the things that affect them and which have no direct impact.

In the particular case of the bomb in the subway, has created people today are afraid, because they no longer feel safe even in public places, But I find it interesting to try to figure out the purpose behind that bomb, beyond the panic that can generate, it seems important to understand why that was the person who did that last Monday.

Nevertheless, the question of whether it was a setup by the government or other authorities will always be, has not found any fault and this kind of thing, unfortunately they are things that can happen in Chile, so honestly not me miss.

The best Holidays

My last vacation, I went to the beach Isla Negra, it is a very nice place, the water are delicious, and the wind is the best, the only problem is the rocks there, there are many! and sometimes it is uncomfortable.
 I was with my cousins: Felipe, aged 20 years, Muerielle, 25, Eduardo is 28.  We were there for four days, in a hut to which my cousins had already gone, it is very cute, it had three rooms very spacious. Really, we had a good time, we ate a lot! We ate pizza, lasagna, seafood empanadas, prawns  and roast,  also drank mojitos and daiquiri.
 Every day we went to the beach, we went to craft fairs, the forest, restaurant, shops. It was incredible!
Every night we played some game, like cards, UNO, sang karaoke and 'true or challenge', we had fun cooking, making drinks and talking stories about our childhood, those were very good memories!
This vacation was the best, because it was the first time that my cousins and I went to the beach together, they are like my brothers  and sisters, so I love them, besides  we laughed a lot, it was woderful.

Music and Movies!

Well, I really enjoy watching movies, I like horror movies, comedy, and I don’t  like science fiction so much, however the last movie that I saw are “los guardianes de la galaxia”, and is a mixture of science fiction and comedy, and for my surprise  the movie are fantastic, I really enjoyed, is funny, dynamics, and interesting. Others movies that I liked are saw, the hunger games, and twelve years of slavery.I have a great time watching movies, so whenever I can, go to the cinema, is a very good panorama.

As for music, is weir because I like very kind of music, I enjoy  the Chilean music, and music in Spanish in general,  bands like “the bunkers”, “los tres”, “los jaivas”, “sol y lluvia”, “Intillimani”, “ los prisioneros” “la ley”, “lucybell”, “soda estereo”, “los fabulosos cadilacs” and artists like pedropiedra, gepe, Manuel Garcia and Silvio Rodriguez. So, besides I listen music in English, bands like “pearl jam”, some songs of pearl jam, red hot chili peppers. I fan of the Beatles, they are my favorite band since I’m 15 years, I love all their songs!

Blogs in English class

Well, is the first time I have a blog, I find it interesting to have it, especially as it is being written in English! so for me, it is much more difficult, because it is difficult for me to communicate my ideas in general, and I think I have not yet fully mastered English grammar, but writing posts really helped me in this area.

I feel that my writing skills have developed a lot, and sometimes I did not realize, because it was interesting to write about topics of interest to me also it was a constant work (every week), so this help very much. Probably it will be difficult, but I consider it like a challenge and  are very necessary in life in general.

I think that with more practice I write about anything that I want in English, and its fun because I could talk to people in different countries.

In my future I would like about my memories, is so emotional, almost like therapy ajaja, but is my personal blog, so I think that you need to have my identity, of course they should be memories you want to share with other, of course! So in my case good and happy memories J`(206 words)

Maria Montessori was an educator, scientist, physician, psychiatrist, philosopher, psychologist, devout Catholic, feminist and humanist. she was born on August 31 of 1870 in the province of Ancona, Italy, in a bourgeois Catholic family. Her mother was Renilde Stoppani, while her father was Alessandro Montessori military profession and very strict.

She studied engineering at age 14, then biology and finally was accepted at the University of Rome, School of Medicine. She graduated in 1896 as the first female doctor in Italy. She was a contemporary of Freud and developed his own classification of mental illness.

The Montessori methodology began in Italy and is both a method and a philosophy of education. It was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, from their experiences with children at risk. She based her ideas on respect for children and their impressive ability to learn. Regarded them as the hope of mankind, so giving them the opportunity to use the freedom from the early years of development, the child would be an adult with capacity to deal with the problems of life, including the most greatest of all, war and peace. The educational material designed is of great help in the preschool period of training. I like Maria Montesori because is a woman that through its methodology respects the development of learning of children, doing to learn more holistically and free.

That´s my song

I  usually listen  a kind of music, I have clearly defined my tastes,  I'm a fan of “the Beatles”, they are my favorite band, i liked Chilean music too like Victor Jara, Los bunkers, los Tres, “sol y lluvia”, “los Jaivas” and “Intillimani” however  there is a song that I love, is "Sirens" of Pearl Jam, that is my song! And is weird because pearl jam is not a band that usually listen every day, but this song remember me a lot of things, a really important person for me and good moments of my life, and when understood as the letter I was greatly surprised, because is a wonderful song. 

The first time I listened to the song in one Sunday, It changed the way I see this band, did not think they could write such beautiful lyrics. So I got home to unload the song, since then I hear it especially when I'm sad, to remember the good times and that makes me relive emotions. (170 words)

I like this photograph because it reminds very good and funny moments, this photo is very natural, we just played in the garden of the house.

I liked my friend´s  family, they are very affectionate and funny people. Also I love children so I enjoy being with her although she is younger than me. We talk about many things all the time and we have a lot of topics in common like music, food and hobbies.

I like this photo too because I think that we look happy, the last summer was really a great vacation I really enjoyed, ate delicious food, I had a good time!!! . Oh,  the beach is amazing and wonderful it looks like idyllic beaches (159 words)

Films

I don’t like  a specific type of film, I likes horror movies and action very much, but really I loves all types of films, I enjoy  see movies, go to the cinema, or see the movie in home with my friends overcoat in autumn and winter eating pop corns,  ice cream or hot chocolate!

I enjoy watching films so, choose one favorite is very difficult for me, but one movie that I love is the hunger games. Directed by Gary Ross and based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. I liked because this films are interesting trama, is romantic, and mysterious too.

My favorite actor is Jim Carrey. I think his performance in his movies is awesome, like the Trumann show and the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

 I think that he is a very good actor of comedy, is really funny!

Really I don´t like technology very much, but in the actual context it is weird not to  use technology so I don’t have many options.

However I have one piece of technology: It´s my cell phone, I take it everywhere! I use it to check my email, my Facebook, my whatsapp, to call friends, family and to listen to music in the morning trip.

I use it many times a day, I don’t know How many  times exactly but I know that it is many times a day because I really like it, it is useful, it’s has the perfect size for  my hand, and I got it  for my birthday last year.

My life without it would probably be different because I fell disconnected from the world, from my friends, my boyfriend, my family, my classmates, etc. (224 words)

Expectations for a new semester

This semester I have a lot of subjects, I have eight! Among them: community, learning, history, dance, education evaluation, initial practice, case study, and English class. This subject is very interesting, I like very much dance and history, I like dance in particular because I can move and develop my creativity and I like history because this subject is very critic with history and it works with history from another perspective, different to the traditional history perspective.

I don’t like to much the learning subject, because I get bored in that class and its focus is not very appropriate to me. I am taking an extracurricular class at the moment, it is theater pedagogy and I really like it, it is very exhausting but very funny.

All these subjects make me feel scared because they are so many! And I fear that time will not be in enough.

Well my expectations with are to do all the best I can, that is to say, pass all my subjects, spend time with my family and my friend and of course, free time for relaxing and sleep. (187 words)

My name is Meliza Osorio, i was born in October 8, 1993, and so, I’m Libra!

Oh! My elementary and my high school I did it in Maria Teresa Cancino school, but now I’m studying education in University of Chile.

Now I will share a little info of my family: my dad’s name is Germán Osorio. Mi mom is Maritza Espinosa, and he is a welder, and she is a nurse; I have a little brother, his name is German, he is 13. Well I have a pet, It’s is a puddle toy dog its name is Principe.

My hobbies: listening to music, going to the cinema, go walking and eating sushi, I love it! I also enjoy photography and spending time with my family, my friends and my classmates.
